It wasn’t just her coat that irritated me,
it was also her luxurious heels.
I sneered at her dark denim jeans,
those stiletto shoes were unreal.
Her hair was extremely frustrating
somehow still neat in the breeze.
Her seamless makeup was maddening,
she looked like an unblemished Queen.
I trail in the shadows behind her,
in my black coat and wide leather shoes.
There is no colour about me,
Nothing tangible that I can use.
I am trapped here in her shadow,
With no beauty and really no hope.
I envy all that she is and has,
I wish I had a bright yellow coat.
